We started out the day at East Beach Grill eating pancakes with Andrew, Kristen & baby Jaxon. MMM it was soo good! Then Zack and I grabbed my surfboard and went out to Ledbetter Beach. The sky was kind of dark from the marine layer, so that made the water look dark and I just felt a little sketched out about it all. So instead of getting in I climbed up onto this huge rock wall and took pictures of Zack surfing. He had so much fun out there. After I walked out to were the waves were breaking and swam around for a little bit. It didn't take long before I was frozeeen.
Then we went up Mission Canyon with Matt and Glenna to this hiking trail they found online. It was soo beautiful! We were looking for these pools/waterfalls but we couldn't find them and it seemed like a lot of other hikers were in the same boat as us. So we hiked up as high as we could go before the trail broke off into fire truck roads. We figured it was a good turn around spot. After we hiked back down to the car we went to the gas station for rockstars... because we are really healthy like that. By this point we were almost late for the Bartlett pool party BBQ so we rushed home and changed into some regular clothes.
There were a lot of people at the Bartlett's. The Boden family came along with the Van Noys :) We swam in the pool, ate chips and salsa then indulged in Jim's delishh dinner. It was really fun. Zack and I were so determined not to eat dessert but there were brownies, ice cream and laceys (the best trader joes cookies) soo it didn't take long for us to cave in.
After we stuffed ourselves we all went to the Goleta firework show. Before they started Jim told us some of his classic baller stories from when he was younger. We love all of his stories. The fireworks were pretty good! They played lots of cheesy America songs during them, but I love cheesy. It was all fun and romantic being cuddled up with Zack during the fireworks :) I love him so much. This has been one of my favorite 4th of July's so far.
