Lately

Long long bike rides around town.

We finally went to Sandbar. They have the yummiest mexican food! The only problem was that I found a bone in my taco :/ which really grossed me out.. but we had a fun night regardless!

Pretty beach walks with my lover bum.

MMM Padaro Grill. I'm obsessed with their salads. We got the prettiest sunset during dinner the other night.

The marine layer is back.. boooo

I found the cutest lonely chair on my walk. I was so tempted to take it home with me.

I love taking little Netflix breaks in between heavy homework sessions. It's the only way I can stay sane.

Infinity vapor trials above our house.

Freshly pick lemons.

I wish these things worked...

Gelato, my current weakness.

shred baby

Saturday was the greatest!

Zack and I went back to Big Bear, YAY my new fave, but this time we went with his parentals :) It was a really fun day, not to mention TOASTY! Almost 70 freaking degrees. It was soo hot that I made Zack give me one of the shirts he was wearing and I left my coat and gloves in the car.

Even though the warm weather makes the snow slushy, I actually love riding in slush. It's kinda heavy, but super soft and fast! The only problem with spring riding in my opinion, is that the boxes/rails get super sticky. I forgot about that though and was reminded the hard way ha.

After Big Bear we went to Lake Arrowhead! It's the cutest town, looks just like a swiss village. I couldn't help but drool over all the gorgeous lake houses. We explored the fun shops, got some yummy treats then continued onto our next destination.

For dinner ate at this to die for Northwoods restaurant that Zack had been telling me about ever since we started dating, and for good reason. Yummiest food ever!

Check on the sunset we got during our drive home!

surprise visit

I called my dad last Friday night because I was really homesick and missing him. He told me that he might be coming to California the next day to buy a new safe moving trailer for his business, and that he was thinking about driving an extra couple of hours so that he could see me! I was so excited I literally started jumping up and down while I was on the phone. Right when I needed my dad more than ever, he just so happened to be heading my direction.

So, the night Zack and I get back from Big Bear (refer to previous post) my dad came into town! It was perfect, just what I needed. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family who takes such good care of me when I need them.

It was a really quick trip. My dad and his friend Mark drove to SB Saturday night, spent all day Sunday with us then drove back to Utah Monday morning after picking up my dad's new trailer.

Sunday morning we all went out to breakfast on the beach :)

Afterwards we went out to the harbor, because my dad LOVES boats!

We ran up and down the breakwater getting splashed by all the big waves that were crashing against the wall.

Zack braving the waves.

fishy fishy

My dad & Mark

We went for a long walk down Butterfly Beach just before the sun went down. It's the most gorgeous beach. Oh, and everyone is blinking in this pic besides meee. It was super bright.

That's better :)

We walked around exploring the Biltmore and then snuck into the pool area. We helped ourselves to some fresh water with lemon too. MMMmm.

Our ultimate goal next to fun, was to give my dad the most relaxing mini vacay! He works soo hard! To say that he deserves some quality chillin time is an understatement.

I sure love him

Greatest men right there

We found the Easter bunny with a shark..

I love watching seals pop their heads up out of the water.

walking home

For din we ate at La Super Rica, best mexican place in town!

Having my dad in town was such a blessing! The homesickness went away. We had so much fun in such a short amount of time. I love my family!

Big Bear

I've been really homesick lately, but Zack always cheers me up and keeps me happier than ever. Last Saturday he drove me up to Big Bear to go snowboarding :) I've never ridden in CA, and I've always wanted to see Big Bear so basically it was amazing. He really is the greatest husband I could have ever dreamed of having. Big Bear is a 7 hour round trip from where we live, but that didn't stop him from giving me the best day ever. I'm so lucky!!

It was really funny on the drive up the mountain there were 100+ cars pulled over putting chains on, trucks/jeeps included. There was absolutely NO snow on the road. It was only wet in a few places, but overall dry, and everyone was panicking and putting chains on! I couldn't stop laughing. These people even tried to sell us chains for $40, but then they saw our Utah license plate and realized we weren't idiots like everyone else. Holy mac.

Anyways we had the greatest day riding. It had been snowing all that week, so we got to shred some fresh pow pow. I never imaged I'd be riding Utah worthy snow in California. It was so fun! I fell in love with Big Bear. The lake is gorgeous and the town felt like Park City. I felt right at home.
